Magazine advertisement

For our magazine advertisement we have decided to use a simple image of the band, by doing this the audience are able to see what the band members look like and in turn gain their own opinion of the band. By involving the bands logo in the advertisement the audience will be able to recognise them instantly and are able to remember this image if they see it again elsewhere.

Filming on 12th January

On the 12th January 2010, we went out to Clitheroe to film the last part of our music video at Keystreet a Club/Bar. Filming was successful and we managed to capture a lot of good quality film. We also took photos for our front cover of our ancillary task of a CD Album cover of an English breakfast, Q magazine, a knife and fork placed on a union jack placemat. Furthermore, we took photos as evidence of our progression in our media project.

We are now on with yet more editing. We have cut down all the clips and began to add transitions and effects such as 'Fade ins to outs' and Desaturation. We have also added our music track to the film so that we can edit it accordingly to the music. We have also began to make our CD album cover for our ancillary task and have finished the front cover and back cover. The back cover features an ash tray with a lit cigarette propped up inside it with a track list from the Torrents.

Here are the photos from the 12th January:

Ancillary Task: CD Cover and panels (group piece)

Below is our final backcover photo. The image works alongside with the image used for the front cover as i decided to edit it in a similar way. I decided to include a list of the songs which is found typically on the backcover of an album. I decided to write the name of the songs in the colours of the British flag which firther helps connotate the British image of the band.
Below is another image i choose to use for the inside cover of our album. I decided to use a frontal image of the band sat on a wall outside. This helps establish the image of the band members, who are weraing indie clothing. As well as cohering to the indie stereotype of rough due to the location of the image being outside on the streets.
Below is one of the images i used for the inside cover of our album. The idea of the band crossing a pellican crossing coheres with the main brand image of the band as being British. I edited the photo so that the picture was darker, this helprs protray the connotations of the indie stereotype as being dark, rough and mysterious.

Below is the inside cover of our CD album. we thought that an image of a cigarette in an ashtray would best connotate the brand image of our band. A cigarette is a good way of portraying our abnd image of being "young and rebellious".

Below is the second inside cover we have decided to use. The image is of the lyrics of the song "21 but not for long". The style of the image coheres with the stereotype of indie bands as being rough, fresh and inspirational with their ideas for songs. The colour effect of the image also helps to portray this stereotype.

Ancillary Task - Magazine Advert for CD (Group piece)

Here is the advert for a magazine of the Torrents CD Album. Magazines which would be likely to advertise their album would be NME, Kerrang and Q as they are quirky and fit the genre of a indie and unique band.

Filming and Editing

Due to the group having to wait till next Tuesday to film the rest of our Music Video, we have began to upload the filming which we have done to Final Cut to begin making some changes to our footage. We will be cutting out the pieces of footage which we definately dont need. However, we will keep the rest so that we have plenty of footage to use. We will be filming next Tuesday and will most probably have to film once more to make the final touches. Footage inwhich we need to capture includes:

- Part of the "night out"
- The Good and Bad girl getting ready (putting makeup on)
- Close ups of texting one another
- Arriving and departing from the clubs
- The final bit of our video either on a street corner or on a bed

29.10.09

On Tuesday the 29th of December 2009 me, Becky, Amy, Laura and Katja, went to Clitheroe to film the main section of our music video showing a night out. We began by filming in the Emporioum, a cafe/bar in which we filmed some of the good girl and bad girl scenes. This was to show the good girl's preferred night out. We planned on filming the rest of our night in Key Street a club/bar. Unfortunately on arrival at the club, we were informed that it was not open until late meaning some of us would be unable to get home. We decided to cancel this bit of filming until a later date which will be on the 12th of January 2010 were we intend to film the rest of our project.
